WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
What’s under the hood?
Back in 2017, we got behind the wheel and began our journey as an organization by logging thousands of miles across the state, building grassroots partnerships with the movers and shakers of Rural Colorado. That spirit of “showing up” remains at the heart of our 2025 Roadtrip event series. In collaboration with our partners at the Colorado Office of Economic Development & International Trade (OEDIT), we’re offering both in-person and online events to rural entrepreneurs throughout the year.
While Colorado is on its way to becoming the nation’s top ecosystem for rural entrepreneurship, challenges remain. Early-stage companies continue to face significant hurdles, including limited access to capital, technical expertise, mentorship, and infrastructure which hinder their ability to scale. And despite our state’s incredible landscape, geographic isolation and insufficient ecosystem support exacerbate these issues, leaving many promising ventures unable to grow effectively.
Through our track record of building startup ecosystems and fostering regionality, Startup Colorado aims to elevate the access and quality of resources available to rural entrepreneurs. On top of that, the Roadtrip serves as an opportunity for rural communities to tap into Colorado’s growing reputation as a startup hot spot.
